Should I run with a cold?

I developed a cold on Friday which includes a chesty cough & as a result haven't run for a week & done no exercise since Thursday (I normally run 3x per week & swim 3x per week). Should I exercise with a cold & if not how do I get back into running again. I'm afraid I'll have lost fitness/ stamina/ motivation

You honestly won't lose much fitness in a week and keep your motivation up by reading blogs on here everyday. It is frustrating but you are doing the right thing by not running. The usual rule is that if it is above the neck like a head cold then it is ok to run though breathing may be laboured and difficult. Anything below the neck like a chesty cough, chest infection etc then you shouldn't run as you could make it worse.

Take care of yourself and you will be out there again in no time!
