Hey all... Seem to be coming down with a cold been shattered all week which I put down to a bit of everything but since coming back from my run tonight found myself sneezing and snotty and heady
could this just be a reaction to tonight's run? And, if not, is it ok to run with a cold? Guess I'll just see how I feel on Monday?

Run with cold?

A few weeks ago I had a bad sinus infection/cold....I think the running actually helped me feel better. I think the constant movement help to drain the stuffiness from my head. If you don't feel like it, don't run. Better to make sure you are healthy first....

I'm absolutely full of a cold too..just about to start week 7. I've already had to have 3 days off with a stomach bug, now adding to it with the cold (felt like I needed to lie down after walking up one flight of stairs yesterday so running doesn't feel like a good idea!). Desperate to get back to it before I go backwards! Hopefully just a few days won't make any difference, I'm sure fitness levels maintain for a couple of weeks at least.

The general advice here on HU is run if the cold is above the neck, rest if it's below, I.E. if it's in your chest don't run. For me a cold always means a cough as I'm asthmatic. I've had a lurgy this last week, I didn't feel too bad so went for my run but ran out of steam after a couple of KMs so it didn't really work for me. I think if you do go your body will soon tell you if it doesn't like it. XX
Would say see how you feel Potty a few extra days rest wont do any harm
hope you are resting etc over the weekend
take care and hope you feel better soon

Hi all, thanks for all the advice I think I will just see how I feel - soooo don't want to slip back at this point

You just take a great big hankie with you. Snotty, head cold is ok to run with. In fact it will help release all that gunk. I did a hill run when I had an awful head cold. I was blowing my nose all the while but do you know I was cured after it. No gunk left. Yay
Sometimes with a cold you just feel so sluggish but I went out anyway- just to feel how it went. I was pleasantly surprised. Just see how it goes. You can always go home if you feel bad

Thanks miss wobble - big hankie it is then
