Physio said "Do a short run, take it slow, keep it flat and good luck"
Well I stuck to her instructions - I didn't have any option than to do just that. It was hard going, it was cold, I forgot to take my asthma inhalers before leaving too. So result was I puffed and panted my short run but damn it was good to get back out there. The next one will be better hopefully and so far so good no ankle/leg pain.
No your right Annie I won't over do it, the Aberdonian in me won't want to spend any more money than I have to on physio, would much sooner buy some new running kit As you get older there is a tendency to think time is running out and you just have to get back out there but its foolish to do too much too soon and undo all the good your treatment has done.
Well done you I'm on the same instructions following a torn quad did run one week five last week of for the next one later today and boy after twelve weeks off it feels great once a runner always a runner ..... Keep going well done x
Happy to read you're back running again, oldgirl. I know you will be cautious and will be back to running like you use to soon. Take care and still sending healing thoughts your way. Gayle
Well done getting out there Liz! Am jealous and getting very impatient. Can't even put heel down yet on left foot. 9-12 month recovery....really? Am going to be like Mamma Cass at this rate.....
