5x50: Wow. There is now 37 of us in the C25K... - Couch to 5K
5x50
Oooo I really want to...but still getting niggles in my bad foot so don't want to over do it. Good luck everyone!
PS How great would it be if there was a team of 50!
I'm eventually joining! I haven't had time to go check out the site much and trying to currently do everything on my smartphone. Within the next few days I hope to be signed up. I think hubby may do it as well. Gayle

About 5x50
What is The 5x50 Challenge?
The 5x50 Challenge launched in 2012 as a charity challenge encouraging people to run, walk, jog or cycle 5k (or 30 minute exercise equivalent) every day for 50 days with the aim of changing exercise habits for a lifetime. The inaugural Challenge attracted over 5000 participants from 43 countries and raised over £63,000 for various charities. Moving forward, the team behind the Challenge have aspirations to make the event bigger and better year on year.
The 2013 Challenge will kick off on on Sunday 31st March with registration opening on 5th January 2013.
What is our goal?
This challenge started with a vision to make sport part of everyone’s daily life. Not everyone will run a marathon, however anyone can complete the 5x50 challenge and experience the physical and psychological benefits that come from taking part.
What 5x50 offers…
Challengers are supported via this website to complete their runs individually or in groups. The online community will allow users to register for events, link with other challengers, receive training advice, be encouraged and supported by our network of Fivers and importantly, motivate one another to keep going over the 50 days.
When it says 30 minute exercise equivalent - can this be swimming, rockclimbing, circuits??? If it's yes then I'm on my way to register. Is there a C25K team to join on their website?
Yes, you can use equivalents and there is a C25K team which you can join.
It can be anything - I'm even interpreting it as 30 min of running or walking, as 5k of either of those takes me a very long time still.
When you join you can say which team you want to be part of. We're "NHS Couch to 5K (C25K)".
We'll be up to 40 very soon! Ooo - just checked - 39 already! Good to have Gayle and Steve (maybe) on board too!
Maybe 50 is possible?!
39 of us now - we're NHS Couch to 5K (C25K) Jane.

I won't be doing 5k every day (I do that three times a week) but certainly will be at least walking or running for 30 minutes a day.
I'm number 41!
Fab - I've just come back from the website and I'm there in the team - it now says 41 members. I feel really bucked up about it - if only there wasn't a blizzard blowing outside the window - but off to gym 'n' swim this afternoon.
I just joined! It showed we are up to 42 members! Steve is out of town but will probably join by the deadline. WHOO-HOO!!! FUN-FUN!!! Nothing like a good ol' challenge to get the motivation going!!! I'm listed as Gayle Hall/gdeann
Brilliant Gayle; knew you couldnt resist a challenge! There are a few more guys now too so Steve wont feel alone....he will have us to answer for if he doesnt!!
Sx
p.s. Loving this photo too
Thank you Sue!!! One of theses days he may truly regret doing all I ask of him. He is away on business but will be back in plenty of time to sign up. I would hate to be pushy and sign him up, he really should get to choose his own password. Although...he just paid for my registration! LOL! I try to do by duty as being the best wife possible and part of that is spending my husbands money wisely.
Can't believe I've just registered!!!
Oooh errr! 12 weeks ago I was an expert coucher, I only came on this journey to aid weight loss and lower my blood pressure, ticked those boxes so why am I still going???!!!
Fun? And Exercise? In the same sentence? Listen to yourself!
