What a pain. Sometimes it's just like that, isn't it, at least you got on your bike and did some exercise.
Not so good about the hole inyou rbrand-new t-shirt. Are you going to send it back? (or has the hole appeared since delivery?) Whichever, it's still a shame.
I'm doing the 5x50 too and my legs also felt like lead today!! But I went and did a Parkrun to get todays 5k out the way and somehow managed to get another PB....errrr??
Definately send the shirt back, ring up and speak to Andy at Complete Runner, he's a really nice helpful chap (I've spoken to him a couple of times) and he will get things sorted out for you.
I really needed a rest day and that is basically what I had. I walked 5 km, but I admit this was not 'over and above' what I would have done without the challenge. Hubby and I met our friends at the camp site and we walked along the River Ness - passing through the Ness Islands - and into the town centre. We enjoyed a lovely lunch together and took a wee detour past the castle and back along the river. According to my measurements on MemoryMap this was just 5km.
I'm not doing anything else today.
Tomorrow is a longer walk as I'm helping lead a guided walk in our local forest on behalf of our community forest group.
HI Swanscot - I ran through Ness Island today too! Pretty breezy on my run - some crosswinds and some headwinds so the islands were blissfully wind-free.
Hey, were you that runner who came blazing along and nearly knocked us down?
Just joking ;P
We didn't see any runners, but then again we were talking up a storm and I didn't really pay attention to the other people passing through the islands. We hadn't see the friends for a year and had a lot of news to catch up.
The wind was pretty bad. Our friends are camping at the Bught Caravan site and their awning was threatening to take off in the wind.
sounds like you had a great catch-up with your friends.
i saw very few people on the islands this time; a couple with a lovely white dog, a boy on a bike, two fishermen and two oriental girls. I was pretty knackered though and was walking back to my car at little Tesco's on the Dores Road - ran the 10K route as a practice for the Baxters 10K in two weeks and as my longest distance before yesterday only came to 8k somehow the extra 2k, and maybe all the walking to the start and to my car, seriously exhausted me. Apart from the wind, it was a glorious sunny day in Inverness.
