Am I turning into a potato again??????

I have not been able to run due to anterior tibia tendonitis and I think I have turned into a couch potato again. I have only run once in two and a half weeks but I have been eating for England.

Work is not good and I think as I'm not able to get rid of the stress by running, I am doing it through eating. Trying to sort out our Summer holiday at the moment and hoping that will give me something to look forward to and get my butt off the couch again.

I'm going to go out on Friday and do a short run to see how the tendon is, that's if I can bend down to tie my laces - ha ha !!!!

  • You'll be okay, even if you need to take a few more weeks to get there... :0) Good luck for Friday.

  • Just keep blogging. Fingers crossed for Friday for you.

  • You can still get some gentle exercise by walking for an hour or so until your ready to jog again.

  • Don't panic! Just get back to it as and when you can. I hope Friday goes well :)

  • I agree with burstcouch try a walk or walk run to ease your body back in gently.

  • Excellent advice to walk - I know how easy it is to just sit back and feel miserable so I try (not always successfully I admit!) to make myself go out for a brisk walk, even if it's just into town and back, about 3 miles altogether.

    Don't rush back into it - maybe put your running shoes on, go for a walk and if you feel okay perhaps try a gentle jog for a few minutes. There's no point in risking further injury for the sake of a day or two more.

  • Thank guys - great advice and I have got two walks lined up this weekend so hoping this will get me off the couch.
