Thanks for the motivation sallenson youโre right Iโm not a potato and I was the best that I could be- in fact a personal PB on pace! ๐Potato truly roasted and it tasted good!
After a tough week 6, I must say that I was in no hurry to face week 7. After a night of back to school dreams, waking up to a cool, grey, drizzly Sunday did not inspire me to hit the pavements. With my summer tan fast fading, off I went.
MJโs voice welcomed me to week 7.....mmmm dreamy- ok not all bad! Brisk walk done, and on to the run.
First 5 mins... Noticing my slightly uncomfortable not usual running bra, stone in shoe, shorts too loose and phone falls out of my pocket on to floor grinding all apps to halt. I may as well have flashed a pair of big pants to the world and called myself Bridget Jones! Just wasnโt feeling put together! Right so quick stop, stone out, cord on shorts tightened and phone rescued...letโs try again.
Thankfully, the rest of my run was actually fairly comfortable. The first time I looked at my time was about halfway and breathing was under control. Instead of having a dayโs rest in between runs I had two. This seemed to help with recovery and I didnโt experience the calf strain that I did last time. This may be my plan going forward with the longer runs.
Got to the hill and for once I didnโt even swear at it! Not even a finger gesture! Maybe Iโm growing as a person!? ๐
Post hill with 7.5mins remaining, I picked up the pace. Felt good and carried on round again and even did a second incline on my last 60seconds!
Feeling like week 7 will be ok after all. ๐

Well it's certainly my normal, can't speak for anyone else though I find that if I have to go straight home, shower, change and go straight out to do something else I can do that and it's not really an issue, strangely enough. But if there isn't anything I absolutely must do there and then, and I have time to think about it, then seven times out of ten, yes I want a nap (and most of the other times I want food).
That makes me feel normal then!! ๐ As you say normally life doesnโt stop and usually Iโm in, dressed, quick breakfast and out again. This was a rare Sunday with nothing too pressing! So I had a healthy cooked breakfast (it really was- still tasty though) and wanted a snooze ๐๐๐
Yey! Youโve beaten your hill. Iโm still fighting with mine but getting there - theyโre there to be conquered.
Ps I may be in need of your teaching skills, it took me three attempts to remember how to spell conquered it kept coming out as concurred ๐. Skool was a long time ago...
For people who may be baffled by why Dee and I were talking spuds, I'd suggested that braving a run about in a bit of drizzle was not a bad thing to do, and that since she was not, and is not, a potato, there was little chance of osmosis of rain water and therefore of swelling to the size of a hot-air balloon.
There.
Best to clear these things up to avoid confusion, distress and possible legal action.
Hahaha!!! Iโm so sorry, didnโt mean to make you sound horrible ๐๐๐ but it did get me thinking potatoey thoughts. I appreciated the motivation ๐
