Today we walked 5.7km in 1 hr 10 minutes. I guess we have a long way to go yet but it's a start. Seriously considering swimming between run days from next week.

Swimming's a good option. I do that on "rest" days, along with Strength & Flex (just started). But not today: drove half way to the pool before I realised I hadn't switched the pressure cooker off before leaving... mad dash back, just in time to prevent the valve blowing and lentils going everywhere (I speak from experience.... a few years back I had to repaint the walls and ceiling it was so bad!). >:/

So what was I saying? Oh yes... swimming. I do backstroke, which I find irons out any problems with my posture (and sciatic nerve). My breathing technique's not good enough for the crawl and breaststroke yet.

Check with the pool's experts / your doc first though.

Good idea to ease into things. :-)

Yes husband's much better. Amazed at speed of recovery. I've done the pressure cooker thing with beetroot :-(

Thanks about the back stroke idea.

My doc says I'm ok for running and swimming. I'm an example to all her patients on weight loss and exercise!
