Please tell me why I found week 6 run 1 harder than week 5 run 3. I could not believe that I could runfor 20 minutes on friday but I did but today I found a struggle, and dose anybody have a long time weather report for march I am really cheesed of with this cold and wind. Having got that off my chest heres to run 2 on tuesday.

Have you tried clicking on 'tags' (in the green bar above) and then finding w6r1 or maybe week6run1?

LOTS of people find the same as you! Maybe because they go out feeling invincible after 20 minutes continuous running, and start off too fast? Who knows? Anyway, you know you can do 20, so you can get to the end of week 9. Just have to soldier on!

I agree though, this cold wind is rubbish! :)

go nannyp - but go slow and steady :-)

week 6 goes back to running and walking intervals for the first ciuple of runs doesn't it? I think sometimes it feels harder to slow down to a walk after running, you lose your rhythm and pace, but it's all designed to build up our endurance so keep up the excellent work.

I too look forward to running past daffodils dancing in a WARM breeze! c'mon Spring, bloomin well hurry up! :-)

I remember deciding at this point that Laura was fallible, as it made no sense to me to return to intervals after running for 20 straight. I asked about it on here and was told in no uncertain terms by most to do as I was told but made up my mind to stick with no intervals, however the snow prevented me getting back out for long enough to convince me I should behave. I still think it as much a flaw in the programme as Laura's advice to heel strike and would advise anyone who asked to ignore the return to intervals and do their own thing.

That so many find it a difficult week I find supportive of my view.

That said, I've also found that a really good run (such as completing W5, R3) breeds the type of confident approach to the next run that invariably leads to a 'kick in the stones' rough run so what do I know?
