Week 6 Run 1 in the bag

just done the first run of week 6 absolutely teaming it down here soaked to the skin , I’m quite surprised but as others have said I found this run a lot more difficult that the 20 mins run of last week. I don’t know if it’s the starting a d slowing action but I’d say it was 20% more difficult than the one most feel is a milestone. Maybe this run could be classed as a similar hurdle. Did it without slowing or stopping but it wasn’t a walk in the park !!.

🍏 Yes that run certainly taught me to expect the unexpected! Doing it in the rain too!! Well done 👏 You will learn much about your self & your running this week .. keep on keeping on.. you are at the business end of the training & we are proud of you for getting thus far! 🌟

Brilliant. Last interval run for you on Tuesday, all being well. You might find Thursday easier physically when it's a continual run. Let us know how you get on throughout the week. Good luck !

Thank you , there is method on this plan I’d like to understand the reasons for doing 20 mins then returning to shorter duration with walking breaks, it certainly felt different and more of a struggle , I’m glad the 8 mins wasn’t at the end!!

The runs here, as with all of them are about much more, than simply running... discipline in our running if you like. Running comfortably and feeling in control of your running.

A steady conversational pace, so that as you move on into the lovely, longer runs, you do feel confident and relaxed ...

Just know you are ready for the runs, take them gently and enjoy the ones too come:)

Well done! I can totally agree on the W6 run 1 and 2 being harder than the 20 mins run last week. I am doing W6R3 this afternoon and hopefully it will go well 🤞 Good luck with the remainder of W6 to you!

Well done for getting out in the rain. It took me ages to realise that I wasn't the fairweather runner I thought I was and it was very liberating!

just done the run 2 on cool down walk section , legs feeling particularly heavy as I type this . Felt it probably as tough or maybe just under the firsts runs difficulty.. well that’s out the way now . My legs felt pretty heavy though although towards the end o got a bit of relief and increased my pace a little to around 6.20 a km

just done the 25 mins quite a step up from 20 , plus it was raining heavy , dodging puddles on the pavement , got really hot after around 6 mins of running and had to take my waterproof jacket off and carry it the rest of the run. Bought one of those running bands to put around my arm but it was uncomfortable so had to take it off!. But I managed to complete the 25 mins after alls said and done.

Legs are throbbing but you’ve got to be in it to win it !.

that’s week 7 run one in the bag, I actually ran longer than the 25 as I was at 3.65km so I kept going till 4km was done 27.19 seconds

well this morning although it was blowing a gale out there I followed the pre run stretching exercises on the app to be honest I’ve only really done a couple of them before on any run and followed the video.

Did the 25 mins and managed to do 4.2km in that time which was a serious improvement on my time of two days since. Anyways enjoyed that one. And I wasn’t rushing I was taking in the surroundings for a change and listening to a bit of Pat Metheny which is always a pleasure.
