Blimey 10k!

Well who would have thought it???? After 5k graduation in November, I have been building up distance week by week, just adding a little bit on each week on my long Sunday run, and, lo and behold, I looked down at my phone to see that this week I had managed 10.2k!! You could have knocked me down with a feather! From not running at all since school (which was a LONG time ago) to running 10k in just over an hour! I started running after having lost a lot of weight in the summer following an operation to remove an ovarian cyst. I hated it in hospital, and so have embarked on a "try to stay fit and healthy regime". Inside me is still that person who loves chocolate, crisps and lolling on the sofa watching TV, but so far my motivation. is holding firm! I even enjoy running now! I don't think Mo Farah needs to worry about me catching him in any races, and I know I look ridiculous when I am in my running kit - but I JUST DON'T CARE. Be proud all you people out there. Stick at it, it's amazing what you can achieve!

That is brilliant progress. It sounds as though you've changed more than you think you have! :) Congratulations on running over 10k.

Well done you, now that is inspiring! Did you do the 'stamina' and 'speed' programmes with Laura or go straight onto building up your mileage?

:)

I just built up bit by bit really. I dithered about using the stamina and speed thing but didn't quite get round to it. So I just added a bit each run, a hundred metres or so each time, and there I was at 10k!

Congrats that is truly inspiring! Sounds as tho you are entitled to some chocolate & crisps!! That's one of my motivators for going running; guilt free occasional treats :0)
