W2 finished!

Yeah! Completed week 2. Got through the mental conflict 'do I have to do this? what on earth am I doing this for? what if someone sees me? I've got better things to be doing than this' etc.

Today, went from home instead of hopping in the car with doggie and heading for the countryside. Doggie came too, but both of us would have preferred car and hills, mud, trees, ponds, wind, fog etc. I spent the whole time worrying if anyone would spot me slogging round the field (popular dog walking area), and checking if anyone was following me. Next time we're going in the car away from everybody we know. However, DID have a passing thought that I don't care anymore! Great! Roll on w3r1, can't wait!

ps my family don't know I'm doing this yet, I'm a 'secret' c25ker.... am I alone in this??

Not alone at all! I admitted to a friend when I started it, but didn't tell Mr Rainbow for a couple of weeks after that for fear he'd fall over laughing at the idea ;) In fairness to him, when I did admit that I'd started running, he took it very well, with not even a hint of a smirk!

You can do this - the self-consciousness will decrease with time, and soon you won't care if there are any witnesses :)

We are at the same stage and Saturday was my first run in daylight..!! Felt so self conscientious, I was looking round for people all the time.. BUT by the time I'd finished I had forgotten my surroundings and so overjoyed I had complete the run, I was oblivious to the people in the playground..

Bring on Week 3... good luck

Welcome to week 3!!!! :-) As the weeks progress and your confidence grows, there will be no secret of what you're doing. You will be shouting the wonders of C25K from the rooftop! Great going! Gayle

re your "Getting through the mental conflict"

Glad to see that you got past them.

These "conflicts" are why I don't jog/run.

Finding people that have gotten past them,

might just give me enough "go" to start jogging.
