I'm not sure I'm going to be able to do the running thing. I mean - I Was Not Standing Behind The Door When Someone (God? -jury is out) handed out my secondary sexual characteristics (J cup and bouncing) but something has got to break here... I'm not sure I'm doing the right thing. I know I have done the wrong thing to get to this state. It's all my own work too! No one to blame but me so it's me that's got to get me out of this. I went for a short stop start walk (2 small dogs in tow) and actually feel quite encouraged by it. I think it helped that I had to stop from time to time to enable ..er...doggy 'activities' to take place. Yes. It was hard work. Yes. I was glad when it was over and yes I was disturbed by how far my fitness level has fallen in the past 12 months. I've managed to gain 2 stone to already overburdened body and lost any residual fitness. So the only way is up...or off..or down...

Good luck. Slowly and consistently is the key. You will be surprised at how quickly you make progress. There's no going back now.

Thank you :-) It means a lot to know I'm not alone!

You are not alone, indeed! Getting started is the biggest step (not that the other steps are easy either, but beginning is really hard). :) Your dogs will love it too!

That first week was my biggest nightmare, it gets easier after the initial shock to the body is over. You will be amazed how quickly your strength and stamina builds up. Concentrate on getting your breathing right, don't worry about speed. But the most important thing here is your up off the couch and running. Good luck and as Greenlegs said "your dogs will love it"

Good Luck. Just starting is a real achievement. Try and find yourself a good sports bra for those secondary sexual characteristics!

Got to start somewhere! I found the 39 stone cyclist's blog quite inspirational - 39stonecyclist.com/

His archive posts are very good, reading through his journey from start to finish helped spur me on to start this. If he can do it, you and I can too.

Best of luck with it.
