Week 9 run 3 is done, 9 weeks ago I never would have imagined I'd be able to run for 30 minutes let alone 30 seconds, still not able to get to 5 k yet in 30 minutes, but I now have reversed my route so as to run up what is known locally as half mile hill instead of down, I am hoping this will increase my strength and stamina.
All in all not to shabby for an overweight 60 something who has not run since her uni days.
Thanks for all the encouragement I have revived, I'm going to continue and have set myself a goal of getting to 5k in 30 mins.

Congratulations!! It's great to look back at where you were at the beginning and see how far you've come! You deserve to feel very proud. Don't forget to ask for your shiny new graduate badge!
Well done ! Brilliant ! Like your cunning plan to get up that half mile hill !
Since moving house have had to run up and down hill to get to regular lake/canal runs.
By my calculations half a mile is about 800 metres. My hill is about 500 and I conquered it in bite size chunks going up about 1/4 (150 metres) at a time each week. It's the last part of my run. would like to run it sooner but have to do it to get home !!
Sometimes it may work just to throw yourself at it and see how far you go. But as others say take it steady and listen to your body and avoid injury.
