Garmin connect

I treated myself to a forerunner just after Christmas. I seem to remember a thread on here a while back about other C25Kers connecting through Garmin connect. I wondered about sharing runs with others but don't want to go public. So I thought I'd ask my fellow runners on here - not really sure how it works either! thanks.

I don't make my runs public either viki. What I do is once I have uploaded my run to GC I highlight the web address up on the top line and copy and paste it into my blog, seems to work for me OK. Hope you like your Garmin I love mine, money well spent.

If you wish to share your runs you can add 'contacts' on Garmin. They will then be able to see your activity, but it will be hidden from Joe Public.

On Garmin Connect, go to the dashboard > Explore tab > People > then type in the name in the box to send a connect request. I'm swanscot on there too. When I've verified your request, you'll see my contacts - most are others from here who you may recognise.

Thanks, I'll do that.

I've got you listed as a 'connection' now, but I can't see any of your runs.

On your name in the top right corner > Settings > Privacy > Who can see your new activities? ? Select 'My Connections' from the drop down menu.

You can change the privacy for individual runs to if you wish. On the grey tool bar > Activity Privacy (3rd button from left) > My connections.

Hi viki, I've just confirmed you on Garmin too. My runs aren't very interesting at the mo because I'm recovering from dodgy knees and do all my proper runs on a treadmill and am still working up - ran 10 minutes in a 30 min session today and covered just over 3K in the 30 so things are looking up. My Garmin sessions are mostly walks, too cold here to run as well, snowy Switzerland and all that :-)

Thanks Mitts. I've just injured my knee so there probably won't be any runs on there for at least a week - hoping it won't take too ling to heal!

If yours is so-called 'runner's knee' too get a foam roller - did mine the world of good!

Good luck for a speedy recovery! :-)

Viki, I am smhall67801 on GarminConnect. I have just changed my settings to share my runs with "My Connections," so feel free to add me if you would like to.

This goes for any other fellow C25Kers!

Keep Running!! :-)
