Garmin Connect - any week 1 folks?

Hiya,

I have a Garmin watch and was wondering if there might be someone on here who is at week 1 and who would like to connect with me to support one another?

I am 40, a lazy female and live in Belgium.

Cheers, Evy

Hi, I have done week 1. run 1 and hope to do run 2 on Thursday. I have a Garmin Vivosmart HR+ that I have started wearing continuously and am using the Garmin Connect App.

I did not know we could connect. I would be pleased to but you would need to talk me through.

I am 38, male, UK and lazy too : )

I am now at week 3 😉.

Well, I know you can add connections in the Garmin Connect app and then you can challenge one another and such. Now I have no connections as yet. So I am not too sure on how it is to be done either 😂.

I think that in the app, you press left the 3 lines to open the left menu. Then you scrioll down to 'Connections' and there you fill in the name in the search. My name on Connect is 'Evy Van Heygen' and my profile pic is a blueish flower.

Hope it works!

Ah sorry, thought it was a new post.

Many thanks for the guidance. I will try adding you today. I am not sure if I have a name on there yet.

Well done for getting to week 3. How are you finding it?

I got to about week 6 before but stopped. But am far more overweight now and struggled with the first run. But this time it was outdoors and before it was treadmill. That makes a difference.

I look forward to emulating your success.

Well... as long as I go sloooooow it goes rather well. But when I run a little bit faster than my snail pace, the run is much more difficult. But that is what everybody says, go slow. You have to be able to talk, not gasp. Which means for me that I can have a chat with a snail while running 😂.

I was a bit anxious about week 3, running 3 minutes in 1 go. But I took it slow and though my breathing did speed up a little bit during those 3 minutes, I was able to fulfil the whole run without any problems.

No idea what week 6 tells me to do, now going to look. That was the problem with week 3, I looked on beforehand and then I can think about it too much

😆.

Will be awaiting your contact on Garmin Connect!

😊

That great progress that you are making. Yes I heard it is important to being slow. Before, I did it too fast on the treadmill. You will be fine with week 6, it is surprising how big jumps in time are possible.

I could not find Evy Van Heygen. There is a Evy Van Bael with a purple flower. My name on there is the same as here: T_One_Hundred

Cheers for the connection. I am not sure what happens next or through that app?

Absolutely no idea 😂. I just see people continuously asking for connections. Thought to try it too.
