After starting C25K twice before and never got past week two...it was always too wet, too hot...too cold...too tired...too busy.... but mostly too fat and lazy, Ive started the New Year with a real determination to sort my self out. Not wanting to fail for a third time, and loath myself even more, I decided to blow my Tax Rebate on a cheap treadmill to get me started till the weather perks up, and I dont look quite so scary jogging in public. So I feel a real cheat in my nice warm spare room when everyone else is out in the rain, but I just know I wouldnt be doing this if it wasnt for the treadmill....so please dont judge me too harshly, coz Im just so chuffed with myself for starting. Ive just done W2R1.... yes Im just pinching myself ( theres plenty to pinch !!! ) that Im into the 2nd week, and whats more I think I almost might have enjoyed myself. I get so much encoragement from reading other peoples highs and lows, and thought if I posted this, someone might read it, and then that would make me want to carry on even more. Hope that makes sense. And good luck to all of us X
Thank you Tax Rebate !!: After starting C25K... - Couch to 5K
Thank you Tax Rebate !!

Well done, Bertieboy! 10 out of 10 for persevering - it sounds as though you are in the right frame of mind to kick C25k ass! Keep blogging, and keep running!

Thanks Oona, I know Im only just starting, but I do feel really positive this time, and whats more Im enjoying it, and thats not just coz Im indoors in the dry !!

I wouldn't feel guilty about doing it indoors Bertie, just doing it at all is a credit to you.
If it makes you feel any better, there are plenty of folk who do it on a treadmill. As for myself, I do it outside and prefer it. You wouldn't get me running indoors for all the tea in a place with lots of tea.

Thanks Fingalo for the reasurance, coz it seems like everyone is only running outside except me. But I just had this real desire and motivation to go for it again, so I thought at least this gets me started before I slope off to the slippery slope to slob again !!.... I wont let you down !!

I run inside. I need the softness of the treadmill, old knees and I need to be able to see my heart rate very easily as it skyrockets at times. Whatever is right for you. Well done and keep blogging, you jogger blogger you.

Great, Bertie - it doesn't matter at all whether you run inside or out, just so long as you run! Fantastic that you are back again. All the best for this time - whenever you need encouragement, or just want to tell someone how fab you feel that you have completed a week, or wonder why a particular run is difficult, come here and blog. This community is so supportive. You won't fail - you can do this
Annie

This is the first time I have ever done this....and I thank you all for all your support and friendship.
