Although it's not as if I didn't do any exercise. We stayed in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight as we were visiting family on the island. The hotel was on the top of the cliff in Old Shanklin. So me and hubby went for an hour long walk to have a look around. We climbed down to the sea (ok, walked down the cliff path), well it was very steep and I forgot that we'd need to get back up the hill, which was rather painful. After that we swam for about 30 minutes and then went and had dinner, with maybe a glass or "two" of the old falling down water of the red variety.
Full of good intentions for a run the next morning, I sadly chickened out of running, and decided there was no way I could run up those hills, so I went out again for another
hour-long walk down and up the hills taking photo's of the fog and the sea and enjoying the peace and quiet, and later on we met up with family and ate even more food!!
So despite my good start to the year, I have only run twice this year, the second time earlier this evening with the rain misting up my glasses. I actually think it seemed a lot easier, the swim must have loosened me up a bit. I enjoyed myself, so I need to remember that good feeling whenever I tell myself I really don't feel like going out. I'm still working my way back up to the 30 minutes, one day soon I'll be back there, and back at parkrun, better than before, that is my target this year, along with taking part in "Walk the Wight", run around Race for Life instead of walking and improving on my time at the Poppy Run.
