After nearly eight weeks on this brilliant programme, waxing lyrical to all about how great it is, the other half and offspring number 1 have finally started. Good luck to you both and all new runners. Hope you enjoy it as much as I am.

Oh, well done you! I'm trying to work on offspring number 2, who used to be very sporty (unlike me, who has never, ever, been remotely sporty), but was still in bed when I got back from my running this morning.

What persuaded them?

My other half has been thinking about it for all of the eight weeks and thought the christmas hols was a good time to start. Offspring was another matter, a lot, an awful lot of cajoling and persuasion. But, finally I think it was the fact that she was starting with Matthew (OH) and just walking out of the door with some one else that helped. They both came back in the house with pink smiley faces. It was a joy to behold. Then she said she 'wasn't going to do that again!'. But I think she will. She was asking how far I thought she had gone.... :)

I think the softly softly approach works a treat. Good luck to you.

That's a great achievement Tricia! What a good ambassador for this program you are....It will be nice to have a running buddy from time to time to but if you are anything like me will still enjoy those runs on your own just for "me" time.

Best of luck to you all. Sue x

You are right Sue. I Love the time to myself. I don't get to much of that. I think some people think I am bonkers getting up before dawn and returning before it is light in frost, rain and freezing weather. But it really is my own time. Everyone else asleep. No worries. Bliss! X

Fantastic, Tricia!! Sometimes, the very best motivator is simply a good example!! Be proud of them for taking the first steps, but realize and be proud knowing that it is because of your example!! Bravo!!

Keep Running...and Keep them Running, too!!! :-)

Yes Steve! That's why I love this forum. All the running stories good and bad really have spurred me on. I hope my enthusiasm has rubbed off on them just a little bit. :)
