Well................It's Christmas Eve , and I made a promise to myself that I would complete all 9 weeks on or before Christmas Eve. Didn't manage the 'before' due to work , but at least I got there ON Christmas eve ,!!! I can't stop grinning to myself
As I have said before , when I started trying to run a few years ago I seemed to have a real problem with telling myself I needed to stop and walk even if I didn't . I had been told by running friends that it was 'in my head' but I always had a nagging doubt that if I didn't do a little walk now and again, I may just have a heart attack (I know it sounds ridiculous now) but it was a genuine fear. I also think that there was an element of laziness too .I came across the site and the way that everyone encouraged each other, felt comfortable enough to share their 'failures and weaknesses' made me feel that I just HAD to start again from scratch and build up week by week . Here I am on Christmas eve, having completed run 3 ............and So proud of myself!!! Please don't think .I'm gloating , I am just happy but more than that I hope that if there is anyone out there looking through the blogs and not sure if they could 'do it' ...........please DO !! 10 weeks or so ago, I was one of those people nervous, but excited at the same time because so many people on here sounded like me . It is almost unbelievable when you start, to think that you are going to be able to run for 30 mins continuously, in fact i remember thinking that I was NEVER going to be able to run for 5 mins!! .......SO as I say anyone just thinking about it ........... download the podcast and start. Make it a New Year resolution. The best thing about all of this is the support and encouragement I have been given form fellow 'Couchers' . I'll be looking out to see what comes next in this running malarkey . I certainly don;t intend to give up now ....................so what do I do about my Graduation T.shirt ...........advice please .........and Merry Christmas to everyone xxxx

Congratulations kazzers, what a great christmas present to yourself! It is an amazing journey, as you said, you can't quite believe you will be able to do it when you start out, but you absolutely can (and did!!!). Another fabulous success story.
If you send JR21 a little message to say that you have graduated, it will magically appear beside your name. The badges are usually batched, once a week (I think), so you may have to wait a bit, especially as it's christmas. I can't remember the company name for the tshirt, will have a look later and post, if someone else hasn't already done so in the meantime.
Enjoy a couple of days recovery and have a fabulous christmas, well done!
How lovely - I'm right here behind you - well, several weeks behind, but it is so encouraging to hear others up ahead who started off feeling like I did two weeks ago. (It didn't come over as boasting in the least.)
Merry Christmas and Congratulations!! What an incredible way to begin celebrating Christmas!! You have every reason to be smiling and to be proud of yourself...YOU DID IT!! It is such a wonderful journey and it gives us much more than the ability to run. Mental strength, determination and confidence is just be beginning of what you have just accomplished!!
Now, it is time to follow vixie's instructions to get that wonderful badge. I am sure that it is going to look marvelous on you!! Where it with pride, you have most certainly earned it!!
Wonderful - you said you would do it and you did! Congratulations on graduating - what a great Christmas present to yourself
I think it would be acceptable if you we're gloating what a fantastic achievement, it feels great doesn't it, what next? Enjoy the feeling of graduation.
CONGRATULATIONS! Such a fabulous Christmas present and achievement! Wishing you a blessed New Year of running! Please continue to stay on here and post! Gayle
