I am really not into the music my son uses to run to. Have loads of CDs and stuff already on computer/iPad but could do with some help to choose a running Playlist. Thanks!
Some suggestions for CLASSICAL MUSIC to run to... - Couch to 5K
Some suggestions for CLASSICAL MUSIC to run to PLEASE
Hi being an oldie my playlist is made up from 60s and 70s, a bit off Elvis But Like this piece for my warm down walk, Parce Mihi Domine, by Jan Garbarek, the album is Officium. Pat good luck
Have you tried jog.fm? There are loads of playlist suggestions on there. I'm afraid I'm not a fan of classical much, being dragged to loads of concerts at a young age has put me off for life! If I had to pick one it'd be Verdi's Requiem. Might make you go a bit too fast though
Vivaldi four seasons for a start?
try listening to classic FM when you run it works for me!
Try playing around with jog.fm ..or google for a free mp3 BBP analyser.
Not classical but not "pop" either....West Side Story, Les Mis, 2 steps from Hell Invincible album (really rousing)
or a bit of opera-Puccini- La Boheme, Turandot
or some celtic drumming- good rhythm
Is jog.fm an app or a stream?
Hmmm... I know when singing Bach the mathematical precision is inspiring and terrifying and relentless and unstoppable Don't know if that might help or hinder!
Vivaldi 4 seasons (spring) is good
Delores- I think there's an iPhone app but I'm on android. There's a website jog.fm that us peasants without iPhones can use It's not a stream, just a tool for choosing music to run to. You can put in your pace and it'll tell you which songs are the right speed.
I'm going to download zadok the priest- no idea what it'll be like to run to, but I remembered how much I loved it the other day when it was advertising something on tv
Ludovico Einaudi is my favourite. Might be a bit slow to run to, but beautiful music. Nuvole Bianche is what I play in traffic jams to stop me getting road rage! "Islands" is a collection of his well known stuff (in the last year or two there have been so many tv ads using his music).
I run with the "Phantom"...both "Phantom of the Opera" and "Love Never Dies"...I love the soaring sound of them...I also like Queen. The piano concertos of Rachmaninoff, and Gilbert and Sullivan's operetta's...kind of depends on my mood and what kind of run I am doing. (wow...someone else who runs to classical...now I don't feel so alone...lol)
Try Sabre Dance, then try the punk version too from UK Subs. Orpheus in the Underworld (aka the Can Can) is pretty good too, but watch out - you can find yourself conducting it as you run - I did and it was v embarassing!!
I sometime use G&S or John Ireland's London Overture - totally different but both good for speed.
If I've had a big dinner the day before and am feeling guilty I try Rimsky Korsakov's trombone concerto - it makes me feel vaguely guilty and run faster.
Another favourite is Concerto N°2 (La Campanella) by Paganini although it's in 6/8 which makes for some interesting running.
