Hello. Just finished W7 R1 and getting on well. Gone from total 48 year old couch potato to running 25 minutes (done it twice now!) just wondering if any of you have any suggestions of music that motivates you and , more importantly, keeps you at the right speed. My 22 year old daughter’s suggestions don’t do much for me, I’m afraid. Cascada - Every time we touch is played at least 3 times during my 25 minute runs so I need a bit of variety! Any suggestions welcome!
Music suggestions?: Hello. Just finished W7 R... - Couch to 5K

I'm listening to Amazon's "Pop to Make You Happy" playlist. A good mix.
Hi, do you have Spotify? Fantastic free playlists, and you can create your own based on your fave sings, but I love love love the music for reading playlist. Enjoy! Lynne101
I’m reliving my youth with a mix of Happy Monday’s, Stone Roses, the La’s, Blur and Oasis.
Well done 👍🏻 sounds like you had a good run. Music wise it’s a good idea to choose carefully as I started off far too quick as a result of a dance playlist 😱
I created a playlist with as many uplifting songs I can think of. Good ones that make me smile when they come on the radio!
I am a bit of an old fart but think...
Here comes the sun - Beatles
Go your own way - Fleetwood mac
Take it easy - Eagles
Search for the hero - MPeople
Good luck!
T Rex , Pink, Avicii, Credence Clearwater Revival, Andy Grammar, Walk The Moon, Reel Big Fish, Megan Trainor.
BBC Sounds have some free exercise playlists. 👍
Thank you. I’m going to make myself a playlist today starting with some Fleetwood Mac! I must be an old fart too!
Nothing wrong with being an old fart! I like “Retro Runners - Dad Dancing Classics” on Spotify, it’s a playlist put together by jancanrun from this forum and it’s great!
What's your favourite music, music that you listen to when at home? That's also your running music. Nothing worse than listening to something you dislike or something that the other guy likes but can drive you insane. If you don't really like music (like my father) then don't listen to it or your runs will be properly ruined.
I use Spotify & have their ‘101 running songs’ on. It’s a mixture (starts with ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ by Queen) but I find it really keeps me going!
ABBA Gold for me on Spotify. Also tried some Human League yesterday.
If I need a change, I go to my own playlist, Billy Joel, Morrisey, Tears for Fears, The Communards, Rick Astley, Gladys Knight. Anything that keeps you moving. Good luck
I’m basically using the original NHS C25K podcasts and their music selections. This may seem boring BUT I kind of trust the choices and the beats per minute thing being good for the run the music is fitted to.
Hi AliMcCo,
I’m the same age( at least for another month) I’ve just graduated C25K last Thursday... not sure how you’ll feel about this but I stumbled onto Hans Zimmers music and I’m loving it... it makes me feel as though I could run a marathon( well at least 30 minutes worth🤣🤣) give him a go... let me know what you think 🤔
Good luck with your running
🏃🏼♀️xx
I turn to You Should be Dancing and Staying Alive. Almost impossible not to laugh when you hear them. Or that could just be me.
Dads 70’s rock for me edited so that I get the right bpm. It always ends on Highway to Hell though. Is it telling me something!
Hi I suggest you listen to your favourite songs, create a play list of all your favourites, especially ones that bring back good memories. My play list for running is varied and consists of hard house, classic rock, Metallica, stone roses, erasure, the water boys and others. All favourites of mine going to my teens. It makes the running more enjoyable when your songs make u smile!
