Hit me with your favourite running tracks! I need some more inspiration! My current faves are old classics - Wake me up before you go go, Wham. Fat Bottomed Girls by Queen (to remind me why I'm running!), and Lip Up Fatty by Bad Manners (same reason), I do have a few others on my list but need some good toooooons to run to!

When running I listen to Laura and whatever is on the pod cast. I was out walking today (as it's a rest day) and couldn't resist Mr Springsteen's "Born to run", Supertramps "Give a little bit", Stereophonics "Have a nice day", The Eagles "Life in the fast lane", Jackson Browne's "The road and the sky" and Hothouse Flowers "Don't go". I think that there may a theme here. Next walk I'll pick another 8 or so songs to accompany me.

Enjoy whatever listen to

I need motivation and like the oldies: eye of the tiger, flash dance, another one bites the dust, I will survive, staying alive, the final countdown 😆

The last few runs I've done I've changed tack and gone from listening to a compilation of songs to a film soundtrack or musical. For me it then evokes the whole film/show and is like a musical audiobook! Perhaps try it out for something different?

What do you normally listen to? That should be your running list.

I'm not normally into electronic music but this one gets me going every time. GO,GO,GO!!!

I recently downloaded the theme tracks from chariots of fire which is slower than my normal running list but I find it’s a perfect pace for Parkrun 5k. I imagine myself running along the sea shore with Nigel Havers instead of on the prom

I have a couple of playlists I made. I play them in order so the early songs try to wake me up through the walk and the later ones get me through the end.

If you have Spotify you can see them here.

(Someone who’s view I respect says both are too heavy on Oasis who “turn [her] ears inside out”!)

Jancanrun has done a couple of great playlists and I often use the Dad Dancing one, this time on shuffle:

Blimey, Jay - I’ve just checked out your playlists! We have an uncannily similar taste in music! I’ll definitely be using some of these - absolute choooooooons!!!

I went onto Deezer and chose alot from their running playlists. Totally reliving my teenage years with big song I loved from the 80s! The Cult, Go West, Wham, Blondie, etc.. All great to run to. I've got The Killers, Stereophonics, David Gheta(no idea how to spell it) Sia and some chart stuff too. All on random play so every time a song finishes I get really excited about what's next! It's like name that tune each time..... Great distraction technique 😂

I use Spotify to either make my own or listen to ready made playlists. One of my faves to run to is The Great British Breakfast. I like it as I tend to run in the morning and have breakfast when I get back! A good mix of tunes

That is a fab playlist. The changing ones like Throwback Thursday and Feelgood Friday are often good as well.
