music to run to

Hi all

Can anyone suggest a music to run to album to download? My music is such a mixture of fast and slow tracks and I think if the music was specifically put together to help with my pace, I would definitely find that beneficial. I'm being a bit lazy as I could probably have a go and make up a play list but never can seem to find the time.

Thanks

Loads out there online...you just have to choose one that has a pace that you enjoy...

E.g.

rockmyrun.com/

makeuseof.com/tag/best-runn...

Thanks Oldfloss

Great response from everyone

This is a great site and helped me through some tricky moments during the C25K programme.

Thanks again

Or Jancanran's playlists are especially for runners, you can find them on I Tunes or Spotify.

Yes, also recommend Jancanrun's playlists, some of which were (or all?) were compiled from recommendations on here, including one from the first single we bought.

I think these were just a mix of fast and slow songs Al, not based on bpm.

Thanks Bluebirdrunner

I decided on Spotify and found a great play list

Hey AlMorr

Went with your suggestions and found the playlist, just need a kick up the bum to go for a run and listen to it

Not sure which week you are on with C25K, anyway, I'll give you a kick up your backside and now go for a run, whatever week that you are on.

Hey AlMorr

I've already completed the C25K - so chuffed when I did, not in a millions years did I ever think I would. I just needed a gentle kick up my bum to go for my 30 minute run, trying to run 2-3 times a week!

Thanks again AlMorr

In that case why is the word GRADUATE not next to your username? Go now to the August pinned posts on the right side of the healthunlocked C25K home page and tell the administrators that you have completed C25K and graduated,.

To be honest I did try to inform the administrators and I thought I did it correctly but obviously cocked up some how. It sure would be nice to have the word Graduate next to my username - I'll give it another try - I think I'm a better runner that a computer user and I'm pretty rubbish at running but it goes to show, if I someone who is carrying 1.5 stone of weight and turning 60 can complete the C25K, really any one can!

Thanks again AlMorr

If it helps Spotify has compilations with beat specific music, for different running levels eg Fun Fun 160-165bpm.

RockMyRun also has similar.

If you have some computer expertise, you can use a free program called "Audacity" (a sound file editor - free download for PC or Mac), which has a function "Change Tempo". This uses a clever technique to change the tempo of a song without changing the pitch. So you can collect all your favourite songs and adjust them to your own preferred running pace.

Hi Iain

Got to be honest I'm no Mark Zuckerberg, so way beyond my capabilities

Thanks for answering my question though

Best wishes

Eurostar

Well I must admit I'm no Mark Zuckerberg, or else I'd be able to afford to pay someone else to do it!

Maybe I should offer a paid service to take peoples songs and alter them to their preferred running pace! Kind of putting my nerdiness to entrepreneurial use!

Guess there would be a problem redistributing copyright material!

Iain you should do it - this time next year you'll be a millionaire :o)

There is one called playlist to run 5k to which I used until this week (7). And now I have downloaded an 80s album

brilliant, I would definitely run with legwarmers on for that one! Hope Madonna is on there!

I’ve just looked and she isn’t but flash dance and footloose are it’s called 80s car songs ..... can’t wait for I’m in the mood for dancing 🤣

Some great recommendations here. I’m currently testing out a few playlists on Spotify. Not sure I’ve found the perfect fit yet, but I’m having a ton of fun trying them. Perhaps I’m odd, but there’s something quite entertaining about listening to a curated playlist and a song you’ve not heard for ages come on mid run. Exercise and nostalgia- what a combo!

It’s ultimately a case of trial and error. Have fun doing it though Eurostar!

Hey beardymcbearderson (now that is what you call a username)

Thanks for your message - I've downloaded the spotify app!

Cheers again

I find that the best music to run to is just whatever my favourite more upbeat music would usually be - think what you might listen to while getting ready for a night out! I find if I’m enjoying my music, it distracts me from thinking too much about how much time I have left to run. Currently I’m on a mixture of show tunes, Craig Charles’ Funk & Soul Show playlist on Spotify, and Stormzy! Sounds weird probably but it works for me! 🤣
