So I am a lurker and all this time I just read other blog posts and kept wondering if I would actually be able to run the whole way. I was worse than a couch potato and W1R1 was a total shock to me. Why the heck do folks run I asked myself?? What on earth are you doing out here Kay was my other question. Well I could not quit because I had opened my big mouth and convinced my closest friend to run as well. She called after run 1 and sounded so optimistic I figured...drat gotta do at least W1R2 before I quit. That way I look like I tried. Long story short I stuck it out and by week 4 I was totally elated with my progress. I mean I could run for longer than 90 seconds and not call an ambulance.. Who knew such was possible.
About three weeks ago I know I was well on my way to becoming a "runner". The temperature was dropping in Chi town and I was STILL heading out to run. Pinched myself a lot of days.
Today is a "balmy" 30 degrees with crazy winds and I STILL DID IT!!!!!!!! Wow. I have never felt so proud of myself. And I have this community to thank. reading other peoples experiences made each week seem possible. How, I had no idea but someone out there was doing it and I darn well was going to try. Now on to the next thing. Working on speed and stamina.
