Oh by the way... I ran 5K yesterday!

My husband and I entered ourselves into the Perkins Great Eastern 5K Fun Run. We did this to help raise money for Sands (Stilbirth and neonatl death charity).

I have only just started the C25k...I finished week 2 on Saturday so I was expecting to run this fun run in a similar way...walk a bit, run a bit, walk a bit etc etc

So I start running, managing to keep pace with my husband, I few minutes pass, I see the 1 Mile marker and think I need to stop and walk, so we do for about 90 seconds..then I keep running...and running... and running...before you know it, I can see the 4K Marker and I am still running...Then I SPRINTED to the finish having run 5k in 37m.27s!!

How did I do this? I've only been running for 2 weeks! Was it the fact that I was running with someone? or that I was buzzing with the atmosphere?? I don't know..

Anyway, looking forward to starting week 3 tomorrow :))

PS we raised nearly £3000 for Sands :))

Wow congratulations - a wonderful charity too!

Do you think the group of friendly people took the fear away ? What Laura calls the mental rather than physical barrier?

you must feel absolutely fantastic -

Huge congratulations
