Unusually, not working this morning so took the chance to do our local Parkrun. It's a pretty flat course so I reckoned it was a good time to see if I could keep running continuously for the whole 5k, and I did I followed all the advice on here about slow being the way to go - just how slow being demonstrated by being somewhat slower than one or 2 walkers but hey, I was doing a running action - but I did actually overtake a few towards the end and came in 557th out of 588 in a time of 39:48. Very chuffed!
I ran 5k! First Parkrun: Unusually, not working... - Couch to 5K
I ran 5k! First Parkrun
That's a great time! Congratulations.
Congratulations! Well done for not stopping
What an achievement. Well done Orchard. I'm quite envious - I can't wait to be able to take part in a park run. I was so close to being ready a couple of weeks ago.
Hope you're finding some way to celebrate.
One of the great things about it was that it wouldn't have mattered to anyone else if I hadn't kept running - it was just I wanted to see if I could do that 5k. Lots of people do walk round though, or do some running and quite a lot of walking so if you are capable of covering 5k you are ready to take part! Go for it!
Great stuff! Once I go sub-30 5K I might consider park run, still not brave enough. 😀
Gosh, I did my 91st parkrun this morning. Not a single one of them sub 30 mins....you can do it !
I've just checked the results for the one I did and there were more than 200 people who took longer than 30 minutes so you'd be in good company before you manage less than 30 minutes. It will certainly be some time before I can do it in less than 30, if I ever do, but I intend to do more parkruns anyway
Hooray ! Well done on your 5K.
Brilliant well done you!! 😎
Well done!!
Fantastic! Well done!
Fantastic time. Well done for taking the plunge. And you're right, nobody is remotely bothered whether you walk or run - it's so inclusive and supportive. Here's to your next one! ☺
