Maybe you needed a little longer to recover after run1?

Probably one of life's reminders that anything worth having is worth striving for? And we're all really striving on here! Did my w7r1 this morning which I prefer but 2 and 3 will be after work - sometimes when in the day you run makes a difference too.

Good Luck for run 3.

Both your physical ability and your mental ability will vary too. Experienced runners say that they have days which are touch and days which are easier. Even on the same course and same conditions.

I have had days when I can do a run with very little trouble, and other days when I struggle within the first few minutes wondering how on earth I will get there. It's not much help I know, but the sense of achievement particularly on those tough days is great, and its well worth it.

Hope your next run goes better! :-)

I wish that I had a wonderful answer that would clear this up for you and you would never have to deal with it again, but I don't.

Some runs just don't go as well as others. Have you ever had a bad day at work? Have you ever played a sport...did you win EVERY game? Have you ever had a day when you just didn't have the same energy or enthusiasm as usual? When these things happened did you quit your job or quit the team? Running is no different, some days just don't go as well as others.

My W8R2 was an absolute disaster!!! Arablue is exactly right, these tough ones make us truly appreciate the more comfortable runs and also help us realize, just how far we have come!!

Keep Running...:-)

My W7R2 was exactly the same and I have just been explaining it to Arablue on their post so apologies for repeating myself folks.

I really hit a wall - wanted to chuck the towel in at about 17 minutes but managed somehow to make it to 22 and then just couldn't take another step - I felt like a real failure so came on here to have a little whinge and also had a moan to my hubby who very kindly pointed out that for me (considering my level of fitness and weight) that 22 minutes was still a HUGE achievement and to chalk it up to experience rather than beating myself up over it. The othere bloggers were their usual lovely, helpful and supportive selves so when ny next run cane along I just tried to put it all out of my head and focus on that next run - and I did it - it was still b****y hard but when I got that feeling of wanting to chuck the towel in I gave myself a good talking to about how much I had achieved and somehow staggered on to the end.

I have found that one of my worst vices is looking at the clock as I'm using a treadmill so I don't let myself look at the clock until I have listened to a set number of songs - this week I'm on W8 so I have to listen to 7 songs before I can look at the clock - today is the first time I have made it to the very end of the last song and when I did I only had 2.5 minutes to go :o)

The other thing I do is find something to think / daydream about so at the moment I'm thinkung about the Med holiday I'm going on with hubby next year and imagining the new slimline me lying on a beach and all the lovely new clothes I'm going to buy :o)

You have come this far, just put it behind you and have faith in yourself - I did and it worked, I've just completec W8R2 and am potentially only 4 runs away from that shiny little green badge :o)

Good luck.
