....to learn something new.
Today is my sixty-fifth birthday. Five months ago, May 4th, I stepped out my door for W1R1.... I will always be grateful to NHK's C25K programme, and CaroleC who introduced me to it, for the new lease on life.
In the past five months I have lost 30 pounds, have gotten my blood pressure down several points, and appear to have a handle on my high cholesterol.
It's been hard work, VERY hard work.
Wherever you are in the C25K programme, I encourage you to stick with it. There will be lots of times you want to quit...I know I did. Nothing really worth accomplishing comes easy. If you are out there giving it a go, you ARE a winner.
My "long" runs are now up to over eleven kilometers. My "easy" run is over five. I'm not fast...but slow and steady wins the race. I also swim, bike (indoor), weight train, and practice yoga. (I'm a tad obsessive...lol)
I wish each and every one of you the very best of running....may the wind be ever at your back.....
Oct. 4th P.S.........Thanks to all for your lovely birthday wishes! It is wonderful to have like minded friends to talk with. If you would like to read other comments/blogs of mine I can be found at "Grammagoesrunning.com" Hope to see you there!
