Did run 1 of week 6 this morning and boy was it tough! felt like i had been transported back to week 1. my legs were like lead, my knees and back hurt and i think i might actually been slower running than walking. why??? could it be the three day break after wk5r3, normally run every other day but had my sons bday party on saturday and was sooo shattered yesterday and with a mountain of party clearing up to do it turned into a three day break.
I do feel better for getting out though, not so keen are the gigantic slugs and the dead rat we came across though. ugh!

Hi, I had a real wake up call on week 6. I found it really hard going and my mojo stayed in bed while I went out to run. Check out my blogs as when I posted about being down on week 6, I got some great replies from people who had felt the same. Newbierunner also posted some links about finding week 6 tough. It seems a very common experience among C25kers to find that week hard after the high of W5R3. Happy to report I was back on form for week 7 and start week 8 tonight! woop! Good luck for the rest of the week and beyond, you can do it!
Well done on completing this - slugs and rats and all!! I did W6R1 this morning too and yep it wasnt as easy as I thought it was going to be. Good luck for R2!
Yes, run 1 week 6 stands out in my memory as the run where I had a rude awakening, I remember thinking "so what on earth made you think you were making progress then?" as my tired legs struggled to cope with what should on paper be manageable intervals after that "epic" run 3 of week 5! I think for many of us our legs are still really tired after our 20 min non stop run & its mental toughness that gets us through! Well done you.
Week 6 is a rough one and the programs way of getting across to us we are not quite there yet! Such a shocking way to come off of cloud 9 after running 20 full minutes!!!! Welcome to week 6! Keep going! You will make it!
Keep Running 179monmou!! I have to agree with what everyone else has been saying. Week 6 was a very rude awakening!! How hard could those little interval runs be after running a full 20 minutes, right???? It is those little intervals that teach our bodies to recover and then run again and they are DIFFICULT!! You are not alone and I promise, YOU CAN DO THIS!!
