Started Week 9

The final stretch now. Odd, it doesn't feel like that long since I started.

Week 8 was a bit tough (and delayed) thanks to a cold; I should've probably waited another day or two on top of the extra break before doing the third run of Week 8. However I did it anyway, so today was Week 9, Run 1.

Annoyingly there's still a little bit of sniffle left, but that didn't seem to be having much effect - I felt absolutely great for most of this one. For about the first time my mind was really wandering whilst I was running, instead of stuck on "how much further?" The legs weren't feeling the pressure that they normally do. Around 20 minutes in I found myself with a big grin on my face. The last seven or eight minutes I started to tire, but still finished the full 30 minutes without having to push too hard.

Isn't it great when it all goes well? I could never have imagined this before I started!

One thing I forgot to mention - at one point I saw the light from a bike behind me (this is running along a canal towpath) so I moved over to the side to let it past only for the guy on the bike to tell me not to bother, he was taking a breather. Now that made me feel like I was doing well!
