Week 8, run 1, - only managed about 13 minutes, before legs felt like lead and could really not go any further. Tried walking and to then run more, but mind and body did not want to play today. Felt gutted then and could have cried. It was a perfect morning weather wise, running around local sports field, which has a purpose built path and estimated distance of 1500m, so thought I would aim for 3 laps. Got round the first lap, reasonably well, and then hit the wall. BANG. Body did not want to go any further and the mind just gave in to it.
Legs are aching still, and don't know if to take a couple of rest days and then go for it again, or to have a go tomorrow? Have ordered some proper running shoes through local running shop which they recommended, which should be here by Thursday. Determined not to give in, but feel if I don't get back on course soon, lack of motivation may kick in. Am hoping to do first Parkrun next Saturday, now not feeling quite so sure about trying so soon and before Graduation.
Want to get the feeling of achievement back again..........
