After our last run body agreed to no wine last night and thankfully no-one suggested chinese. So this morning body was zinging to get running, although if I'm honest waking up at 5am when the alarm wasn't due to go off until 6.30am was a little extreme. Needless to say I made body wait until 6.30am before we left.
So off we went body, me and Laura for week 6 run 3, our longest run ever. Warm up went great however I soon realised I was freezing. No like a little cold but proper cold, brrr... I was glad to get running. 5mins in I was feeling a little bit warmer and very glad there would be no walking today. When Laura said 12.5mins I was quite impressed on how I was feeling. Head up, looking where I was going. By 15mins I'd lost the feeling in my hands and arms as they were seriously cold.
As we came round the last part of my run I noticed something strange with the river. Was that really steam coming off the surface? Did that really mean the freezing cold water coming straight off the hills was warmer than the air temp? Then I noticed the frost on the field. Brrrr....
One minute to go said Laura. Why don't you see if you can go faster? Fat chance I thought and then body said, 'What a great idea, let’s go' and there I was sprinting!! What an amazing run. Mind you if I'm keeping this running stuff up I better get some warmer running clothes. I've only just thawed out enough to write this blog.
Oh and the best thing about the run? Yes you guessed it SHE CALLED ME A RUNNER!!! How cool is that.
