I just did my first "run" (more like a wheezing stumbling jog) and I feel brilliant!! I felt like I was going to keel over and that the horror (of wheezing and stumbling) would never end but it did and after the cool down walk I feel like u could do another minute run again - only felt like but didn't do as I want to stick to Laura's advice / routine etc.
This is the start of a big change for me and even though I'm sure the aches will set in tomorrow I need to keep this great feeling in my mind!!!
I'm sure my next run (scheduled for Friday) will be painful but worth it too!!! I almost can't wait!!!

Well done, I started myself last week. It feels so good to progress. I did a similar walk / run programme earlier in the year but never had the confidence to progress to week 2, so gave up after 3 weeks. Somehow, these podcast give me the confidence to move onwards and upwards.
Fantastic - go you! I started off just like you, and came back from my first run with a massive gring on my face because I had actually started something. A long time later (it took me longer than 9 weeks) I am just about to try a 5k run for the first time. Keep it up, and let us know how you get on. The support on here is amazing.
