5K walk for diabetes
Good luck
Good luck and don't forget to let us know how you get on. Where is it by the way?
Good luck, that doesn't seem like a small goal, it's amazing !!!
This is a big step, it's the beginning, you will quickly find the walking will lift your spirits and you will feel healthier. That is how I started, I would walk with my sister three nights a week starting with a half an hour route and gradually increasing to 45 minutes. Then we got faster. My sister decided to leave it at this and I wanted more and started the couch25k and loved the challenge. I still walk three nights a week and sometimes it's difficult to fit everything in, but I wouldn't stop walking as she would stop exercising and I wouldn't like that as she needs it for stress control.
I wish you all the best in your journey, let us know how the walking is going.
Good luck!
Very best of luck! My daughter has Type 1 Diabetes and I started running to get fit to take part in a sponsored event to raise money for Diabetes charities a couple of years ago, a very worthy cause...and now I'm hooked on running - a great outcome all round I'd say. And as Gardengal has said, that's no small goal, I'm sure you'll do well.
I am sorry your daughter has this obstical in life. My mom has Type 2 and its been a hard road for her, but she is doing well and every day she is thankful. I hope your daughter is well and enjoying life and we continue to find a cure. Till than lets raise that money to find a cure.
