Thank goodness for Britney!

Never thought I'd hear myself say that, but started the Bridge to 10k and was seriously flagging, then Britney's Womanizer came on and it just has the perfect beat to get you going. I did my first 10k this morning in one hour and 23 minutes. I know it's nothing like as fast as most 10k runners but I was really pleased with myself. I kept thinking I can't go on any more but then managed a little bit. I kept rewinding Womanizer and one of Pink's songs and that got me through. I used up almost 1000 calories as well which I was quite impressed about. I have found it really hard to keep motivated after graduating, and have only been managing one run a week, but each time tried to do a little bit longer. I still have no speed and best time for 5k is 37 minutes, but I can run (slowly) for a long time and have very strong calves! The best two things for me are having the confidence to run in front of absolutely anyone, had to stop running at the beginning every time I saw another person; and sleeping better which makes life worth living. For anyone starting out I cannot recommend the program enough. Keep running :)

Well done for running 10k . And especially well done running in front of people if this was an issue with you early on in the programme.

Well done cattery, 10K is a long haul run and takes a strong body and loads of willpower too. Don't think too much about your time not being fast, its your best time and just say to yourself that next time you will try and dig a bit deeper to go a bit faster. I strongly advise anyone who is hung up on their time to stop thinking about it, no two people should compare their times as there could be loads of things to be taken into consideration, such as age, height, weight, weather conditions, ups/downs etc. I rest my case. Well done cattery, nice one :)

Well done you! I started the b210k yesterday. Was it the podcasts with Samantha that you trained with?

I'm not sure who it was, not much voice over, but the music is great, I got it from someone on this forum. Good luck with it :)
