My own playlist

As I am nearing the longer runs I would like to make my own playlist -- no offence Laura but we don't have quite the same taste in music ;-)

a) Any suggestions? Do I just record whatever I like or is there a certain genre that makes us run better (hahaha);

b) How do I record Laura's voice over my music?

Thanks everyone, D.

I don't think you can get Lauras voice over your own music. If you are a bit of a whizz you might be able to chop the 5min warm up/cool down bits in though!

I would just do a playlist of what you think you might like to run to and go from there. I put quite a few on mine and have found that I skip over some as they aren't quite my pace or I've gone off the song!

jog.fm is a good site to get ideas for songs from if you know your bpm running pace.

I had to ditch Laura in week 7, one podcast was enough for me. Also listened to one week 8 but none of week 9 ~ sorry Laura!

Thanks doggymum - I'll look into jog.fm but don't know my bpm running pace though. Gosh I feel stupid!

The front page of jog.fm will calculate this from your known pace.

As doggymum says, jog.fm is one site that suggest tunes with the appropriate beats per minutes for your pace. Just enter your pace as mins/km or min/mile and jog.fm tells you the bpm.

I listened to Laura on the five minutes warm up on my first run of week 7, then just switched to my own tunes on the mp3 player. I've not created a playlist as such but am using a random shuffle of songs from a 'Running Tracks CD. Like doggymum I just skip songs that are not at the right pace for me. I use my watch to time my run.

I haven't found a way to put Laura's voice over music but used a feeware programme called Audacity to chop the warm up and cool down segments off which I would then put at the start and end of my playlist. For the tracks jog.fm sounds a great idea, I normally just pick what I like but it's a bit trial and error.

Not what you're looking for?
