The short answer is no, not with the Laura podcasts, you are stuck with her music. I think there are different apps you can get where you can play your own but I haven't tried it.
The music does change for different weeks but the quality is no better! I tolerated it until the end of week 6 where you start doing continual runs, and switched to my own music and a stopwatch.
Good luck with the program! Don't let the music put you off.
I've found some of the music pretty bland, but as it changes every week, it's bearable. I found the music without words harder to run to than the music with singing as there's nothing to distract from the nagging from legs/lungs that compete for attention at each run!
I'm a bit wary of doing my own playlists until I'm a bit better at running, as I suspect the tempo of the c25k music is very carefully selected to ensure the right speed of running. anything too jolly might set us off at an inappropriately fast speed.
In a perfect world I would love to listen to my own music but I do agree with you it's probably specifically selected and the right tempo etc for each week so ill persevere as I need to stick to this workout as everyone on here is so encouraging I feel like I'm part of a community already ??
I'm with Jonut on this one, although I think I actually gave up on the podcast music during W6! I can now listen to just about anything, any tempo, singing or instrumental and maintain a pace which is comfortable for me - maybe that's just because I have settled with slow and steady wins the day (thanks Greenlegs)
I did miss Laura a wee bit, but by then I had decided that she was watching me from the other side of the bush or fence anyway, so no problems!
Whatever you do, keep on running Good luck, Linda x
