As it seems that there are quite a few us who are running to our own music playlists, I thought it might be a good idea to share some of the tracks that really help to keep us going through those long runs. I know this is a very personal thing, what puts a spring in one person's step will probably just irritate someone else, but it might be useful to try something different now and again to stop things getting stale. What does anyone else think?
To get the ball rolling here are some that are working for me right now:
Pencil Full of Lead by Paolo Nutini
This is the Life by Amy MacDonald
Bohemian Like You by The Dandy Warhols
10/10 by Paolo Nutini
London Calling by The Clash
Barbados by Typically Tropical (good for cold mornings!)
I like shortish songs as they pass quickly and make me feel the run is passing quickly!
I'd really like to know what works for anyone else if you fancy sharing!

I was going to post something like this myself. Just out of curiosity really.
Being more of a rock indie alternative type of girl, mine might not suit everyone but is perfect for me.
Mine begins with Rage Against The Machine -Killing in the name of. Its just over 5 mins and suits my warm up walk plus I do find it really energising so I'm ready to run when I start.
I usually have it on shuffle after so its a surprise. But I have bands like the prodigy, queen, aerosmith, red hot chili peppers, queens of the stoneage etc.
I also have very eclectic tastes generally so have a few upbeat gems on there like, pj & duncans Lets get ready to rumble and will smiths Boom shake the room. Just for fun.
I didnt mind lauras music but do prefer mine.
Keep these lists coming. You never know I might feel inspired!
I've created a list from my own music, based on bpm. Starting slowly, builds up to 3 fast tracks in the middle, them winds down again. Best bit of all is the cool down walk right at the end.... 5 mins 44 secs of 'Smoke On The Water' by Deep Purple.... puts a spring in my step every time, no matter how tired I am!
The harder they come-let your yeah be yeah-louie louie motorhead version-white lines-funky cold medina-mr big stuff-jean genie-various clash and sham 69.complete mish mash and on shuffle cos I enjoy the suprises
I have two playlists, one for when I did my first 5k without stopping using the zombies 5k app. It had a horror/apocalypse theme and I was very amused that zombies were chasing me/reanimating to Thriller!
It was a bit short so I usually have sisters of mercy, nine inch nails, green day, levellers, green day, rem, imagine dragons, Bon jovi, Duran Duran, boomtown rats. It's a bit of an eclectic mix and has a lot of Hubby's taste in music and possibly needs editing.
