Having taken a little break due to far too many health issues, last week my daughter said “ do you fancy doing it again mum?”. She was the reason I started running again back in March 2018, then she dropped out and I carried on.
So we started on week 1 again. ( I haven’t run at all since May so was a bit rusty) and this morning we both did run 3!! We are running separately as I can go anytime and don’t sleep well so tend to do between 5-7am runs. She works and also stays at her boyfriend’s alternate weeks and he lives out in the wilds so she has to run when the opportunity comes up. But she is still faster than me at the moment ( and half my age so I’m not stressing about that!!) so it’s better to run separately.
Wednesdays was a 5.00am run- before the heat,Fridays was about 6.30am and a little warmer and today was a foggy morning but still very mild. Quite nice running in slightly damp air.
Hopefully I will be able to keep it up again at least until I go in for my op- I’m not sure how long that will stop me for- only a minor one but still surgery so 🤞
And it’s lovely to be back 😁💕

WELL DONE you - that sounds familiar. I started in April. 2018 and apart from a month on holiday in USA I ran regularly. Until December 11th. On that run I decided to wash my kit and put it away 🤷♀️ No injury, no excuses. Last week I’d volunteered at Parkrun and felt I was a fraud if I’d not run so did 2 runs W1 and W3. Just now walking home from a W4 🥵 so good luck. We can do this (again)
Hopefully yes!! I have missed being able to run easily and enjoy the running. Having caused myself bursitis ( or GTPS as it’s now called ) by pushing to HM distance too fast, and still getting the odd twinge now and then after 2 years, I shall be taking it easy this time.
My breathing isn’t what it was either and of course there is my Liver cyst which is my main issue til it’s dealt with ( soon I hope) so I am taking it slow and steady this time around. 🤞
You have all that knowledge and experience to draw on now so this is bound to be an easier journey. Hope you get the op out of the way soon. Sounds nasty.
