Week 9 Run 2 today but feeling disheartened - it was soooo hard!

Just got back from my second run of week 9 and, although I finished, I found it very very hard. I know I only have one more run to go until I graduate but I'm now wondering if I can continue to push myself so hard when I finish? I have found the training hard but manageable all through, and have enjoyed it so much, but the last week has been one hard slog. Does it get any easier? Or should I carry on but run for just say 20 mins?

Just keep thinking of that feeling when you do complete the whole course. I'm on week 9 run 1 today and the thought of finishing on Friday has given me a massive determination to do this. I don't want to sit there on Friday after the last run thinking I had to breaK the runs down, I'd be gutted.

YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

I know that when i finish I still won't feel like a 'proper' runner, you know those super fit people who make it look all so easy. I do enjoy running and hopefully this will keep me motivated to continue.

I am about to go for my week 9 run 2 as well and I know how you feel. The runs are quite hard and I always think that i am not going to finish. But try to look back and now a 15 minutes run does not look so hard so i imagined that in two weeks time if we can carry one will get easier. We can do it!! It has taken me more than 9 weeks, I started in May!!

Thanks Arita, I also think that I am not going to finish, perhaps I just can't really believe that I can run for 30 mins! But you are right if I look back to when I started - also in may like you - I realise I have come such a long way.

I've just done W9 R3 and it was really tough. I don't feel ready to graduate and feel a bit of a fraud.

I think you feel the same as me, perhaps we just expect too much of ourselves. If we look back to where we started we have come such a long way! Just need to keep it up now and hope that it will get easier

You have all done brilliantly, don't feel you're not 'proper' runners or frauds! The fact that it's difficult just makes your effort and success even more impressive to me. You should feel really proud of yourselves and not doubt your achievement. If you've done the week 9 run once or twice you've proved you can do it. The aim of the programme is to get you running for 30 minutes or 5K in 9 weeks and you've all done that! Graduate with pride! You've DONE IT!!!!

Congratulations from a struggling week 7-er!
