Step 1 download the podcasts nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/...

Step 2 put on your trainers

Step 3 off you go with the first podcast

Enjoy :) I know I am, I'm on week 7 and loving it.

Yes, it's that simple. That's precisely what I did 3.5 weeks ago having never deliberately done exercise. Week 1, Day 1 was ridiculously exhausting. Week 3, Day 3 qas also tough but am running further and for longer. (However, right now I am pausing for a bit due to knee pain...)

GOOD LUCK! In my experience starting was the hardest part, once I was out the door on the first run things became a lot easier so go for it, trust Laura and become a runner!

Let us all know how you get on.

Hope your knees get better, know how that feels, you'll be back out there before you know it is you take care now and rest up...Also can recommend warm down stretch to stop it reoccurring once our back out there.

As the others have said, it really is that simple. One word of advice is to get a proper pair of running shoes before too long - they will make a difference, and whatever you do just stick to the plan and trust Laura! When I started I really struggled (60+ and done no real excercise for years) but now I'm loving it. Each week I amaze myself and am achieving things I would never have thought possible just a fewcweeks ago - and you can too. Just go for it!

Yep, can only echo the others - I graduated on Wednesday and it is that simple as long as you stick to your plan! Good Luck and enjoy! :)

welcome.

make sure you let us know how you are getting on. when I started this I was a bit embarrassed & found that anyone that I mentioned it to (apart from my very supportive family) gave me that "what, you are doing this for fun?? reallllly????" look.

blogging on here was brilliant & I was lucky enough to find someone a week or so ahead of me who gave me lots of support. there is a lot of support & encouragement on the site & if you have any concerns/worries ask for advice. no question is a silly question :)

& dont look at whats coming up in the next week. just take each run/week as it comes & you will do fine.

good luck. x

hi

I was hideously embarassed as I didnt think I coulod do the first 60 seconds. decide if you are going to work in distance or time. I found time easier and got myself a cheap stopwatch £4 from tesco! I did the 1st 2 session in the dark so no-one could see me, once I realised that I could do it it really motivated me and I'm in week 5 and have only had one blip!

beleive you can and you could start tonight!!

The hardest part is walking out the door the first time. Believe in yourself, believe in the programme, believe in Laura and you'll be fine. Each and every one of us doing this has been amazed at ourselves and what we've achieved - and what you will achieve. Good luck!
