Ouch ouch ouch! I've just done the stepping stone podcast and I'm wiped! Could not even make it through to the end!
Not sure whether I should continue with it, I was quite happy with my running for a weeks now, yet this morning felt very awkward and wrong and all over the place. I've got long legs, am almost 6ft tall and suppose I therefor take longer strides. Trying to fit in with the beat was really hard! I had to shorten my steps lots, just felt really weird. I was so tired I could not manage more than halway up the little hill to my house.
Well, it was certainly challenging! I might try it a few more times but if it keeps on feeling like this I will rather carry on as planned before, just add a song to my playlist every week. Phew..

I listened to them but they seemed so fast to me. Do you think they are designed for those who can do 5k in 30 minutes? I'm not there yet so I'm going to repeat c25k running at my usual speed for the walking parts and speeding up for the running parts and after another 9 weeks I might be ready for stepping stones
I think it is designed to help you build to get to the 5k in 30 minutes! I know a lot of people aren't quite there yet and this will definitely build your speed. I just found it weird to shorten my steps to fit in with the beat. Why don't you try a couple of runs with the new podcasts and just see how you go? I am sure we'll be able to build up to it. When all's said and done, the main thing is not to get stuck on that couch again! Let me know how you get on?
I did that one yesterday too, found it challenging but did manage over 5k in 30 mins although felt a lot more tired after it and ache a bit today. Will go again tomorrow and see how I get on.
My normal runs get me to 5k in just under 30 minutes, this one however threw me out of sync. Also a lot more tired and aching than normal. I suppose a challenge is a good thing right? I would really like to hear how you get on with it!
hmmm - I wonder if I'm really ready to start them yet then? I'm nowhere near 5k in 30 minutes & it sounds like speeding up to that level on this podcast could well finish me off!!
I think it is just about speeding up a bit no matter how slow or fast you run! With a day between me and this run I am now feeling a bit more positive and will definitely try again. Go for it, it can only get better...
I did this run for the first time today after graduating a few weeks ago.I didn't find the beat easy to follow so tried to keep counting in my head.I actually thought I was probably running a little faster than the recommended pace. However when the 30 minutes was complete I had only ran 4.2 km.So disappointed!! I thought I was running a lot faster than normal.I then had no music left to complete my 5km which took me 35 minutes. This plan did however reduce my last running time by 1 minute. There is a hill I have to run up twice on my circular route.Wondering if I should try a flatter route to compare with? Will I ever manage the 5km in 30 mins?
