Park run what is it ?

After C25K, Parkrun has to be the best place for joggers, runners to test themselves and their abilities. Its one of the best events ever started, long may it continue and grow.

Its a 5km run held in parks all over UK. Its a timed run rather than a race and its free to enter. Its a great thing to do once you can manage 5k and are brave enough

Its a lovely event and well worth checking out to see where the nearest one to you is. Go and watch the first time and perhaps walk the route. If you are interested after that all you have to do is complete their form on line, they email you a barcode which you need to print off. You don't need to register to run, you just turn up, starting times are 9.00am in England, Wales but 9.30am in Scotland every Saturday. That barcode will let you run at any event not just yur local one.

I've run 2 now and was an official last Saturday for the first time, it was great fun and let me see how well they are organised and attended, although up here in Aberdeen ours is just a small one compared to many others who have hundreds of runners every week.
