Not at all - I did my first one last weekend. Start at the back. Most of the runners will disappear into the distance, and It'll just be you and a few walkers. Walk the first 5 minutes to warm up, then have a nice relaxed jog around the course. You'll get lots of encouragement from the marshals - it’s a great experience. Good luck!

It’s never too soon. Just get to the start for about 8:50 and then move right to the back of the pack for the newbies talk... the pack should soon be away, just go at your usual pace. You’ll get so much encouragement your wouldn’t believe it. Well done reaching week 9... have fun closing it out

No, it's not, I started on w6, just run at your comfy pace, try not to get carried away at the start by storming off like others, let them go..

Be aware of the faster front runners coming past you lapping, try to keep out of thier way, but don't worry about it.. enjoy!

If you are thinking about it I'm guessing you feel ready ! If so stick on your sunglasses put on your headphones keep putting one foot in front of the other until you get to the end and forget about everyone else....oh and give yourself a big pat on the back when you finish 😉

You will really enjoy it. I started running in April, and going to Parkrun early was one of my better decisions.

I'm just about to leave for my 12th consecutive on, at 6 different courses. (There are only 2 fairly close to us, but whenever we are visiting or away, I look for the location of the local Parkrun.)

Today I am at one of my local ones, at Bridlington, and next week I will be adding another new one to my collection, in Liverpool.

Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and soak up the atmosphere.

Hope you make it there this morning! I love them! Started going in week 3 and walked it 👍 start slow and hang about at the back to start with - you’ll soon be going past people that run-walk if you keep jogging 😉 it is very satisfying!

Ooh, thank you for posting this. I joined up my local parkrun last week but haven’t really thought about going to it yet. I think I will try to get myself there after all these lovely comments.

I’m planning on going to one as soon as my work schedule doesn’t conspire against me (worked last Saturday, working this Saturday, going up north v late on Friday and there isn’t one easy to get to from my fiancées dad’s house)... but then when I return from up north, the park run right behind my flat falls on the day I’m scheduled to be doing W5R3, which is fortuitous as it’s a 5min walk/20min run/5min walk
