Park Run

Completed my first Park Run today at Dewsbury.

What a lovely bunch of folks all speeds and abilities but all running 5k.

I still stagger with intent rather than run but I got round.

Anyone thinking about doing a Park Run after graduating ..... just do it.

I left a couple of weeks so that I could actually stagger 5k a couple of times before the Park Run.

I also left a couple of days clear before the Run.

Well done.

Everybody should try parkrun at least once, in my opinion.

People power at its best.

I’m definitely a staggerer with intent too! Well done for completing it. I’m only week 5, but very much looking forward to my first Park Run.

Staggering is quite acceptable as a means of getting around a 5K parkrun course :) - as is walking and skipping. You can also run. :)

Walk, run / walk, run ... parkruns are excellent barometer of your fitness. If you add a heart rate monitor you can get to understand your body and it's journey to fitness!

Nicely done and glad you enjoyed your stagger!

Parkrun is brilliant and is for all shapes, sizes and abilities - speed is irrelevant unless you are one of the very few who can do it in 16 odd minutes! Which I am definitely not I hasten to add! Congratulations and very well done. Unfortunately ours was cancelled because of the weather but there is always next week!

Been doing park runs since week 5. Haven't run the full 5k yet but am only just on w9 and now weather is delaying progress. Enjoy the park runs as everyone is so supportive even when you're a snail like me
