last Friday I completed week 5. I did not feel like running until today. I thought I would drop back to week 5 r1. I gave up after 4 minutes. I keeps walking for a while then went back a week and did the 3 and 5 minute runs. At the end of the runs instead of the 5 minute walk I kept running. My iPod went into week 5 and I went right through without walking and also for another few minutes. The thing is I must have run for over 30 minutes without trying to.
I am 54 and still overweight I really did start from zero. I can't work out why I was dead on my feet after 4 minutes and went on to do my best day?
Does anybody else find the first minutes the worst. I nearly always find the end of the runs better than the start.

We have good days but we still have bad your body may not have been ready for that and take longer to recover make sure you get the rest day tomorrow.
Having said all that I did something similar today too was on week 7 r1 and decided to go for the 30 just to prove I could but will just walk tomorrow and make sure I rest.
Its called the toxic ten, those first ten minutes of the run are the worst, get through that and you will be fine. I still think I'm about to keel over in the first 5 minutes and want to stop on every run, just give yourself a stern talking to and away you go. As Laura says, its a mental battle not a physical one.
