Oh I did it, I can hardly believe it, me . . . running for 30 minutes in front of other people - amazing! Everything went wrong, started a nasty cold yesterday, forgot my water, wore the wrong top and was baking by the time I got outside. Was feeling really moany and when Laura said go I said No, and continued to walk. I had a nasty feeling I was going to walk all the way and never get going. Then I said to myself, come on you, you've done it before and you'll do it again, you need to be positive and get those legs moving. I really wanted to improve my time for the last one and managed to stay between 11 and 13 miles/minute which is really good for me as sometimes I stray up to 18 minutes! I did 2.5 miles in the 30 minutes and did my 5k in 37 minutes which is a personal best. So all round really pleased with myself, in spite of not feeling great and forgetting my water and roasting like a potato I did it. Thank you to all the people who take the time to blog about their progress, good and bad it all motivates me, and on some days when I really haven't been able to get out, I've sat down and read some stories and it's inspired me to get out and do it myself. I can run now in the sun and rain and have even survived falling face first into a big muddy hole! My confidence is so much better and I am sleeping like I used to when I was a lot younger, hurray! I have lost 4lbs which doesn't sound like much but I have definitely changed shape and I think I will soon be able to sit down in favourite jeans which will be fab. Thank you Laura, you are great! If you are just starting out, have faith in the way the program is taught, it really works. I couldn't complete the first 8 60 second runs and look at me now. I can run very slowly for an hour and can hardly recognise myself. Hurray, Hurray Hurray! Good luck everyone and thank you.
