1 down and 1 to go

Today I did the Edinburgh 10k and it was tough!

It was really hilly for the first half then a couple of hills in the second half for good measure!

We weren't allowed to wear headphones and I think that made it harder, I could hear how loud I was breathing!! I sounded like I was having an asthma attack :)

Now I'm not running I can say I enjoyed it! Reflection is such a good thing, at the time I never wanted to run again!

Tomorrow is the Marathon relay, hope I'm not too tired :)

  • Well done on completing stage 1:) Good luck for tomorrow

Know what you mean about not wearing headphones....my breathing is soooo loud!

  • Well done! What was the atmosphere like? Is that one of the reasons for not allowing earphones at races?

  • The atmosphere was great! There were people on loads of the course. I'm not sure why you can't wear headphones, it's the only race I've ever done where you can't. Not that I've done many :)

  • Who would have thought a race in Edinburgh would be hilly....

  • I didn't! The marathon relay is advertised as flat and for some reason I expected the 10k to be as well!

  • A big well done to you! It must've been tough going in the heat as well as hills and the distance. Hope you get rested up for tomorrow, good luck.

  • Is the 'no headphones' thing a common race feature?

  • I don't think so, some proper runners have told me its not!

  • Well done! Good luck for tomorrow!

  • Well done, if it was as hot in Edinburgh as Aberdeen you have my sympathy. Will keep my fingers crossed for you for tomorrow.
