On Sunday i am attempting my first 5k funrun. Up unitl 3 weeks ago i was running up to 8k per session so i could definitely do it... but then i was overcome by a series of disasters. They say pride comes before a fall and i was very proud of myself so the fall was huge.
First i pulled the ligaments in my shoulder doing rolls at Tae Kwon Do. Then I had gall bladder surgery. I got over that and did a couple of runs then another disaster.... i started getting dizzy to the point of nausea and vomiting every day. Another trip to the doctor revealed i have fluid in my inner ear and the dizziness will eventually go away. I couldnt work for a week and no running either!!!
So I'm going to run on Sunday for the first time in a couple of weeks and hope i can do the course... and hope I dont embarrass myself or run slower than the cows (we are running in a cowfield so perhaps they will lap me!).
And i go back to work tomorrow... 24 seven year old children for 6 hours... yes i am a teacher and i have a feeling i am going to earn my money tomorrow...
Keeping my fingers crossed!
